Why do I need to license the standards when I am an IIA member?

Modified on Thu, Sep 26 at 4:43 PM

As a member of the IIA, you have access to many documents which are only available to members. The standards are publicly available and free for anyone to use internally. Membership does not include the right to use standards nor other documents in commercial endeavors. As with many other key standards setting bodies, the IIA is charging a fee for use of the standards in commercial work. The organization did this in order to maximize the value of the standards and other works we create in order to continue to serve the membership and the profession.
